All old information and
downloads for the Shadows of Time game are available to your left.
If you’re dyslexic,
consider it a teaser for the kind of puzzles you’ll have to solve once it’s
done.
No new news on the game (or more specifically, none we're willing to show you), but there is some news on the books. After almost a year of editing and rewriting, the sequel to Shadows of Time, called Probable Outcome, is almost ready for release. Expect a formal announcement either later this month or early in the next one.
SOT2's always been one of my personal favorites in the series, and despite the long hours and constant nitpicking, I've actually really enjoyed the process of polishing the book up for this release. There might be a preview posted in the next few days.
4-06-07:
BEHOLD:
An update that actually includes new content!
It's not much, but the first Teaser/Demo of the game is now available in the download section. It's small and some of the content isn't finished, but we feel it should give you a fairly good idea of what you can expect from the completed game.
So what are you waiting for? Go get it here.
Okay, so we don’t update much. Or ever.
But, rest assured, progress IS actually being
made, just not on the website. Voices
have been integrated into the game, though we still need to add background
sound effects and refine some of the character animations before we release the
full demo. We did consider putting a
teaser up, but figured that would take about as much time and look more or less
the same, only worse, so we’re sticking to the demo.
So, to recap, what we have finished since
the last update is:
John + Tim Character models
The script
More dialog recording
The inventory system
The hint system
More environments
ISAC character models
Opening Cinematic
…And some other stuff that would
technically count as being spoilers.
As far as the books go, SOT 4 and the
game continue to eat up much of my time, but the final revisions of SOT 2 are
continuing and should be done sometime in the next month or so, which means the
book should be available online soon…ish.
We really need a marketing department.
Well, I suppose this is technically our
first update for the site (which we still refer to as a temporary thing).
One thing that several people have
complained about to me is that my explanation for the time travel in the book
doesn’t makes sense to them. So when I
came across this site by a fellow
named Ron Bryanton, I just had to post it. Click on “imagining the tenth dimension” and
see the kind of explanation that I just don’t have the patience for. To those who are still confused or want me to
relate the flash specifically to my books, the Time Stream could be viewed as
one of the aspects of the 6th dimension. Everybody happy now? What?
No, I can’t get you a drink. Be
reasonable.
Now, for those of you who are actually
crazy enough to expect to see game footage, I can announce that, amazingly, the
game is actually RUNNING at the moment.
About 60% of the modeling is done, and I’m going to be going down to
Here’s a screenshot of ISAC and
John chatting with each other.
